A miracle in our city…

DSC_0007edit.JPG

The single, teenaged mama  laid her wee babe in my arms and asked if I would watch her for a week so she could go to youth camp.
That’s how it all started.
We took that baby home with us, and all fumble fingered, I tried to remember how to care for a wee one, since our baby was now in her twenties.
I thought her a funny looking little thing with her round, bald head, her pokey out ears, her big toothless grin.
Like never forgetting how to ride a bicycle, within twenty four hours, some of yesteryear’s mama skills were kicking back in.
Within twenty four hours, she had captured my heart and I thought her one of the most beautiful little babies I had ever seen.
I didn’t know then that I was participating in a miracle that would change her life, and ours, forever.
Yesterday, I sent a message to a pastor friend in our city.
He’s in the trenches.
He knows our city’s dark secrets.
I told him, that somewhere in our city, is another miracle, waiting.
I told him we are ready to try again.

Still following,
Elizabeth

  1. Wow! Elizabeth, I don't know if it is just me but this seems like a rather cryptic message but instead of trying to figure it out, I will just pray that this miracle continues to unfold.

    God bless you all richly,
    Dianne

  2. Dark in the trenches and knowing the under belly of the church is hard...Praying with you that you see the miraculous God fingers in all...because it is true that we all are sometimes the least and he wants to heal us 'sickies'.
