On the cusp of the change of season...

It was still summer on the calendar when we vacationed the last week of August and the first week of September, and yet you could sense the coming change of season.

We had rain on some of the days, but never so much that we were kept indoors all day, yet enough to make ducking into our favorite tea shop for hot tea and scones or taking an afternoon nap to the sound of the rain perfectly delightful.
In this series of photos, I think I've captured that "almost autumn" feeling.  The leaves on the trees weren't in their full autumn color yet, but the flowers in the gardens were past their mid-summer prime.
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed shooting them and editing them.  The first four photos were taken in Victoria, British Columbia, the last six in Ocean Shores, Washington.
