"just shoot me" - a camera still life

(edited in PicMonkey with their daguerrotype-shiro action, 50%, and textured with Kim's 2810 texture screen mode, 20% opacity)

I began to delve into photography less than five years ago, starting out with a simple point and shoot.
I fell in love with seeing the beauty of life through my camera lens.
About a year later I bought a Nikon d5000 and began to learn a bit about photography with a dslr.
I learned by reading my camera manual, through online articles and videos, by asking my professional photography friends questions, and most of all, by trial and error.

(edited with Kim's 100 texture, lighten, 20% opacity)

Eventually I sold my d5000 and I now have a Nikon d7000.
I also bought a 50mm and a 35mm prime lens.
The 35mm is my favorite go-to lens for indoors.

(edited with Kim's achieve texture, hard light, 25% opacity)

I still have a long way to go and much to learn about photography,
but as I said, it's become a real delight in my life.

This little vintage camera was a gift from a photography friend,
and I have since added two other old cameras to my collection.
I use them for display only.
I'm definitely a digital photography gal.

    1. I keep my eyes open for affordable old cameras at the thrift and antique stores, but they are quite collectible so the prices are sometimes pricey.

  2. My daughter has been taking a lot of pictures lately and thinks she might be developing an interest in photography. I think it would be awesome if she decides it's something she'd like to persue. :)

  7. Very pretty pictures. I have been learning photography for about three years now ,through trial and error, articles and videos. I shoot with the 5100 and I too have the 35 and 50. My TT post was taken with my 50. How fun that we have similar photography journeys. It is a delight to me as well.
