Saltwater...

(photo edited with Kim's 0703 texture, screen mode, 50% opacity)

While I don't think this quote is the whole truth,
there certainly is some truth in it.
When I'm upset, frustrated, or angry, a good brisk walk or run,
or rolling up my sleeves and doing some cleaning, often helps to temper my mood.
I think that tears are healing and cleansing,
and sometimes you just need to have a good cry.
But my favorite of the three forms of saltwater is definitely the sea.
I can't look at the ocean without being reassured that the God Who created it
and Who controls the waves and the tide, is surely capable to take care of me and all that concerns me.

  1. I've always been a fresh-water girl. Decidedly. Memorial Day through Labor Day, I'll be lakeside as much as possible. :)

  2. I learnt to swim in the salt water. Love the sea anyday but it has its dangers. Love your image and words.

    1. We were always taught to respect the sea, to realize both it's beauty and it's power. Rather like the Creator, right?

    1. Viv, thanks for your encouragement. The sea here is Oregon is much too cold for swimming, even in the summer.

  7. A beautiful view of the sea, and in black and white, the image has a more thoughtful tone - seeing lines and swirls and edges. The texture gives the impression of a foggy morning and the quote is a great compliment to this picture. But, as always, what I love most are your thoughts - yes, a good cry is sometimes all that is needed.

    1. We've traveled often to the mid-west, and while I love it, I can't imagine living where you can't spend the day by the sea.

    1. I'm not a black and white loving gal, but even in color this photo was mostly gray tones, so it worked well.

  11. Keep on swimming! Lol thank you for always showing us pictures from the sea! My happy place, not that I am near it. So I appreciate your pic's. God is good all the time. My backyard pool is the closest to water for me!

  12. Elizabeth, I'm with you on this one. Although I feel like I have cried a bucket these past few days due to a family situation, I know that God is working on it. A trip to the beach sure would have been a blessing, but I had to settle for tears this time :)
