In 2012 I followed the prompts in Ann Voskamp's Joy Dare in counting my thanks.
In 2013 I'm going back to the way I did it in the beginning,
just noticing and recording the many extraordinary blessings in my ordinary life.
And so I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my little black journal.
(and capturing some of them via my camera or iPhone)

-youngest daughter getting up at 4am to take us to the airport
-smooth travels to Kansas City
-taking oldest granddaughter with us
-taking a quick nap after settling in
-being in the atmosphere of 24/7 prayer and worship

-taking communion with my granddaughter
-new watercolors
-cherry red cowboy boots
-dinner at our favorite Italian place in K.C.
-singing, "Happy am I to have You as my God"

-the Hubs watching oldest granddaughter so I could spend undistracted time in the prayer room
-listening to her read aloud to me in the evening while I painted
-a new blogging opportunity

-the God who keeps his Word and His promises
-Laura Hackett leading a session in the prayer room

-God's provision
-healthy baby boy born to young couple from church
-safe flight home in spite of weather delays in Denver
-hot bubble bath
-new, warm flannel clearance sale pajama pants
-our own bed

-my home office-my happy place
-sunny skies and frost covered ground
-our hard working washer and dryer
-a favorite, simple and healthy one pot dinner

-our church
-lunch with friends
-all the grandkids here together

Gratefully yours,

I'm loving that you are painting--

    Beautiful post, once again--

  3. You paint beautifully. I especially love the one you did of the pinecone. What a gift and a blessing God has given you.

  4. Elizabeth, your week reads like it was a beauty. So enjoyed sharing in your blessings! :)

  5. I love your paintings, Elizabeth!

  6. creating is always a joy! sounds like you had a special week!

  7. LOVE this list... so many great things to be thankful for! I am just a little bit jealous that you got to be AT ihop 24/7 'live'... I just get to watch it online! (Love the red boots too... and the watercolors!)

    1. Hope you see this Karrilee! I try to go to my commenters blogs to respond, but didn't see a like to yours. I'm from the Pacific Northwest, too! I love that you know about, and listen to, IHOP!

  8. So much to be grateful for! I can't wait to hear more when we can get together. Thankful for your safe travels and the time of blessing - and your red cowboy boots!
