Gray shelf and white ironstone...

gray shelf and ironstone 1.jpg

Things evolve at my house.

First, I had an idea to move a bookshelf from upstairs to the entry hallway and to place my collection of white ironstone and assorted other white dishes there.

Who says all dishes have to be in the kitchen or dining room?

Then I bought this little cubby thinking it would be cute placed on top of the shelves, but it didn't look quite right, so I had Home Depot color match some paint and painted the shelves to match the cubby.

Now they look like they've always belonged together.

Then one day I made this trash to treasure crate and used some of the leftover shelf paint on it.

Yesterday, when I was on a closet cleaning spree, including the under the stairs " all things decor storage" closet, I decided to use the crate to corral some of the dishes on the shelf.

I think I like it there, at least for now.

  1. Ironstone is so lovely, it can be displayed anywhere. ;) Great idea to unite the two pieces with paint. Love the dishes in the crate also. :)

    1. I don't really know the color, it was specially mixed to match the cubby that was already that color, it's a gray with some greenish beige undertones.
