Sarah always influences me to be a copy-cat.
After reading this post, I decided to try making my own laundry soap too.
I gathered my ingredients, all of which were readily available at my regular grocery store.
Here’s the recipe I used:
4 cups washing soda
3 cups borax
2 bars grated laundry soap
1 tsp. lavender essential oil
It’s so easy to make, especially if you get the Hubs to help grate up the soap!
Then I just whisked all of the ingredients together, added the teaspoon of lavender oil and whisked some more…
and put the laundry powder in jars.
Use only one tablespoon per load, two for large or heavily soiled loads.
From what I’ve read online, this soap is safe for all washers, but should not be used if you are on a septic system.
It smells heavenly.
So far, it seems to clean the clothes well, and is very economical.
