A friend’s son just took some tests that revealed he’s color blind.

I don’t really understand it all, but can’t imagine not being able to differentiate color in all it’s endless variations.

And I can’t help but think of

The Creator of color…

pumpkin orange, grass green, the indescribable blue of a cloudless sky.

In the Autumn, He shows it all off.

Colors everywhere.

Just because He thinks it’s beautiful.

And it is.

Oldest granddaughter is adopted, mixed race, brown skinned.

She asks why God made her brown.

Her mama says, “Because He thought it was beautiful.”

It’s true

and she is.

And I can’t help but think of

The Creator of color…

From the fairest ivory to the darkest black and all the shades in between.

People of every hue.

Just because He thought it was beautiful.

And it is.

And I can’t help but think of

That day when people

from every nation

every tribe

every language

every tongue

will stand before His throne

in a great rainbow of praise and adoration and worship*.

Just because He thought it was beautiful.

And it is.

And He is.

*(Revelation 7:9)

Still following,

Happily linking here today~

My simple pleasure this week…COLORS!

Project Simple Pleasures2

  1. smiles. i imagine on that day we will make quite the mosaic of color...and they all are beautiful...because He thought it...and it is..nice write.

  2. when i design, especially, i marvel at how colorful our God is. how he created this world full of color, and i'm so thankful to have Him as my teacher.

  3. Oh, Elizabeth, this is so beautiful and colorful.........and that granddaughter is lovely beyond description. All races, all tribes, all nations, hard to fathom but yes, a rainbow surrounding His throne--your imperfect prose once again does not fit the category and you should be disqualified, ahem, because it is PERFECT.

Think I'll be out soon for that Starbucks,

  4. Elizabeth, beautiful post, describing how HE sees beauty - in each of us!

  5. Jesus loves the little children - all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white - all are precious in His sight. Because He thinks we're beautiful - and we are. Oh, I can't wait for the day we're all in His presence - every tribe and nation, singing His praises!

  6. Elizabeth, I don't know why, but this made me cry. Thank you for linking up to Simple Pleasures today.

  7. Colors are so reflective of Him in every way.
    Thanks for this.

  8. Beautiful post...there are tears in my eyes. You have touched me on so many different levels. He is wonderful, isn't he? I often wonder in the garden with amazement at what he has given us to create with. Thanks for sharing this, Patty

  9. The MASTER artist ....loves color .....and I love your post and pictures just beautiful and how blessed we are with just simple things !!

  10. Amen, amen, amen! Love this post..yes, yes. I have a twinkle in the corner's of my eyes, reading the beauty in each line.

God is the Creator of all that is beautiful, all that is Glorious...indeed, and we are so blessed, so full of appreciation for His goodness ♥

  11. Beautiful post, thank you for sharing.

BTW, I love the question your granddaughter asked her mother, and her response. Sweet.

Hope your having a blessed day.

  12. i love this post. i love everything about it. it is beautiful... as he is. never stop writing, friend. xo

  13. So true... but even more, how amazing that God things so many different things are beautiful! Even the world seen through colorblind eyes :)

  14. this is so beautiful to read....and the best to believe it's simple truth.

  15. I love the poetry and the simplicity of the words. Astounding...and beautiful, just like Him.

  16. As an adoptive mom of children of different races, I loved, loved this. And as a New Englander loving the beauty of the color all around me, all I can say is, Amen! Sometimes it's overwhelming thinking about the things God created simply because it gave Him pleasure to do so. Great post.

  17. oh this is so beautiful Elizabeth!! HE is beautiful just as you say!! blessings..Trish

  18. bittersweet post,
how I love your intention to demonstrate the fact that one can still see beauty of colors even if one is color blind.
