I simply remember my favorite things…Friday’s Favs…I’m lovin’ photography!

I didn’t know it was only a naive school girl crush when I wrote this blog post.
I thought I was in love with this…

Oh sure, we had some good times.
But, then I met tall, dark and handsome…

You know how these things start…so innocent.
“Honey,” I nonchalantly said to the Hubby, “I am really starting to love photography.”
I began to entertain thoughts of what it would be like to be like to try a different camera.
I even began to sneak peeks at the Nikon on the computer.
I read all about it and what it could do that my Samsung couldn’t.
I knew I was getting in pretty deep when I started to look for the cheapest place I could get it.
It turns out Best Buy had the best buy.
Go figure.
I talked the Hubby in taking me “just to look”.
The Nikon had me at hello.
I just couldn’t leave without it.

The Samsung photo…pretty great!

The Nikon D5000 photo… be still my heart!
This picture could might actually make someone think I know what I’m doing!

So, now I’m all inspired to learn more about my new camera and about photography!  Believe it or not, I’ve been reading the camera instruction manual!  I’ve  also been reading and studying about photography online.  Thanks to the Pioneer Woman for her photography tips!  She writes in layman’s terms that even a newbie amateur photographer like me can understand.  She helped me understand aperture and shutter speed!
It started with my little Samsung, and now with my new Nikon…photography has inspired me to notice the beauty that is all around me in my daily life.

  1. Fabulous! I am saving to take the leap to digital SLR; I had a film Canon Rebel that I loved until I couldn't get good developing locally. I was considering another Rebel, but you are turning my head toward the Nikon!

  2. I hope you won't be like me. I bought Photoshop Elements a year ago and still haven't taken time to learn all the wonderful things it can do. Considering it can even erase wrinkles, you'd think I'd make it a high priority project.

  5. I just read your post over at "At the Well". I loved your post and decided to take a peek at your site. First of all, the music is great! I wrote down both artists, I want to hear more! Second, WOW...amazing pictures. My sister has that same Nikon and absolutley loves it. I have to tell her about your site, she will be so inspired by your pictures. I am glad you were a guest of "At the Well", otherwise, I may have never found your encouraging site. Looking forward to reading (and seeing!!) more.

  7. Good for you! I made the big jump to DSLR but I didn't go with the Nikon. Now I often wish I had and just found a photo shop that will trade up for a Nikon if I want to pay the difference. Thinking and praying about it! Can't wait to see more of your photos - they were great before but you're going to love what you can do now. I feel like you - I'm noticing things differently than ever before.
