Umpqua River and Oregon Coast...

Last week my husband and I were blessed to have a little getaway at our youngest daughter's in-law's cabin on the Umpqua River. The weather was typical of a western Oregon spring-a mixed bag of rain and sun breaks. I took the photo above from the deck of the cabin on one of the rainy days.

My favorite place to walk is by the sea. Since the cabin is only twenty miles inland from the beach, we drove to the beach for our daily walk most days.

One day we drove south down the coast and I took the photos below. You could hear the sea lions and see them gathered on the rocks below from the roadside viewpoint.

These last three photos might be my favorites!

  3. Thanks for the memories. My husband and I drove the entire coast from Washington to California one year and we stopped in Bandan, beautiful place. Now I live in Wisconsin and do miss the ocean so much.
