On a recent gray, dreary, rainy spring day I put on my walking clothes and braved the elements to forage some flowering quince branches that I had noticed while driving by a vacant lot on the way to the grocery store.
Flowering quince is my favorite spring bloom so I was happy to find some branches to enjoy in my home. They definitely brought some spring cheer into a wet and gloomy day!
still following,
What a lovely, soft color. Definitely would brighten any gloomy day. Great find. :)

DeleteI love quince in bloom!
ReplyDeleteI do, too!
DeleteI don't think we get quince here locally, although I do get to buy quince jam/paste to pair with cheese at one of the supermarkets here.
ReplyDeleteI've never eaten quince before! This quince shrub is simply an ornamental variety.
DeleteThank you, Birgitta!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quince images, Elizabeth! Such a pretty sign of spring. We just spent a week in Hillsboro two weeks ago..and will be back next weekend for our only grandchild's first birthday. There really wasn't much blooming when we were there earlier, and I imagine I won't be able to visit blooms this time. My neighbor's quince isn't close to blooming, but we're still dropping below freezing at night.
