First week of 2018 blessings...

The first week of January has already come and gone. Sometimes the ordinary days of an ordinary week are the sweetest as I sense God's nearness and savor His blessings in my life.

Since 2009 I've been counting my blessings thanks to the prompting of Ann Voskamp.
I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my journal.
(and capturing some of my blessings via my camera or iPhone)

-Bible journaling through the book of Matthew as I read it with She Reads Truth
-primroses for sale outside the grocery store on this frosty day
-an impromptu taco Tuesday with our kids and grandkids
(minus our youngest and her family who are on vacation in Hawaii)
-hot coffee in my current favorite mug
-gorgeous blue skies with feathery cirrus clouds
-trusting God, yielding all

-God speaking to me through the Sermon on the Mount
-the sweet presence of Jesus
-a day of rest after a migraine
-my journaling Bible
-God answering a prayer
-re-reading a favorite book

-9 hours of sleep!
-Psalm 25
-going on a walk with a friend and seeing the sunset

-Rita Springer's Defender song
-God building His church His way
-a miraculous, long prayed for salvation

still following,

  1. I just got an email from a missionary friend in Africa also telling about a wonderful salvation story, and a woman hungry for the Word there. Praises and smiles.
