thanks forever...

What a busy, rich and full week it's been!  There is a lot of anticipation of our sixth grandchild's, (another grandson!), imminent birth, and a "false alarm" this week when the doctor thought perhaps he might need to come early.  Our two grandsons both celebrated birthdays.  Yesterday we had a gathering of the whole family to celebrate Mother's Day and the May birthdays in our family. As always, I've got so much to be thankful for!

Since 2009 I've been counting my blessings thanks to the prompting of Ann Voskamp.
I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my journal.
(and capturing some of my blessings via my camera or iPhone)

-woke up after a restless night with God's peace
-our soon to be born grandson "flipped" on his own and is no longer breech
-some good bargains on birthday presents
-this BEAUTIFUL day

-God helping to order this busy day
-lunch with my buddy
-a beautiful walk

-Psalm 40
-another BEAUTIFUL day
-our middle granddaughter working so hard on a Mother's Day surprise for her mama

-youngest grandson's third birthday
-working with my youngest daughter's mother-in-law to help our girl get her house ready for the baby
-a little nap before prayer meeting
-a powerful prayer time

-our oldest grandson's 13th birthday!
-a fun Friday date day with my guy
-a fun evening with the birthday boys at my daughter's

-a helpful store manager with an exchange
-cleaning house, puttering, baking, on this rainy day
-God taking care of things when I pray and trust Him

-my husband's card to me, "I found the one my heart loves"
-sweet cards and messages from my girls
-our whole family together for a wonderful Mother's Day

still following,

  1. You must be so excited to be welcoming another grandson into your family. Our 2nd grandson is due in about 3 weeks! I join you in this excitement!

    1. I am VERY excited for grandson number three to be born. We will have three granddaughters and three grandsons when he is born.

  2. Happy birthday to your grandson's. Our family has four May birthday's! 2 sons, 1 daughter-in-love, and one daughter-in-love to be!

Looking forward to "meeting" your new grandson!!

    1. We have four family birthdays this month and will have another one when our youngest grandson is born.

  3. Ahhhhhhhhhh. So much sweetness. Happy for you, Elizabeth ♥ Praying for the safe arrival of that new grandbaby...

  4. It's been so long since I've been here--or blogged--and it's great to visit. I love that you are still keeping a day of listing your gratitudes. I think I'd like to do that again.

I'm still making your Frittata when friends come and they love it. Hope you've made the Meatball Stroganoff and enjoyed it.

I have a post up this week about a friend of mine who cooks with her grand kids each week while she watches them. They're 4 and younger. She had a Mother's Day Extravaganza that she taught them to bake. I'm sure you'd love reading her story. Her cooking adventures are called "Cooking with Woo Woo." Reminds me of something you would do, Elizabeth.

Hope to share more here together.

Blessings on your new grandson's birth.

    1. Thank you so much for this link! I haven't made the Meatball Stroganoff yet, but am looking forward to doing so. I'm so glad you stopped by!

  5. What a busy, blessed week you've had!

  6. More catching up with your gratitude list. So many blessings. I spent Mother's Day morning in a tiny church on the Navajo reservation near the Grand Canyon! We sang along in Navajo and loved meeting the dear folks there. Our hearts were touched and we want to go back again. It was a special Mother's Day - the first my dear mother spent in Heaven - and I was able to be dear Navajo mothers to celebrate.
