All praise to God...

The calendar was a little more full last week than I prefer. I do best with a little more white margin in my schedule, some blank spaces on the calendar that translate into time to think, time to write, time to rejuvenate with a walk or by spending some time in nature.  Yet, in looking back at last week and reading over the entries in my gratitude journal, I see how God met my needs even in the middle of the busyness.  He is so good, so kind, so faithful.  All praise to my God!
Since 2009 I've been counting my blessings thanks to the prompting of Ann Voskamp.
I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my journal.
(and capturing some of my blessings via my camera or iPhone)

-huge fluffy snowflakes
-the first "normal" nights sleep since coming home from Ghana
-foraging for pussy willow branches
-a rainbow as I finished my walk
-the first robin of spring

-the sound of the birds chirping as dawn approaches
-being a friend of God
-a locally favorite Costco employee saying, "God bless you, my sister" as I was leaving
-the names of God-Jehovah Shammah:the Lord is there, Jehovah Shalom:the Lord is peace,
Jehovah-Rophe:the Lord Who heals, Jehovah-Rohi:the Lord my shepherd,
Jehovah T-sidkenu:the Lord our righteousness,  Jehovah-M'kaddish:the Lord Who sanctifies,
Jehovah-Nisei:the Lord our banner, Jehovah-Jireh:the Lord's provision shall be seen
-another sweet time with our home group

-"Nana school" day with our eight year old granddaughter
-going on a field trip to a local wildlife refuge
-five deer, two beavers and oodles of ducks, geese and swans

-forsythia in bloom
-belly laughs with the two oldest grands
-finding the right gift for a wedding shower

-wonderfully slow lazy morning off with the hubs
-a fun day out and about together
-chai tea with a frothy crown of milk sprinkled with cinnamon, made just for me by the hubs

-morning blue hour
-gorgeous pink sunrise
-the words, "Nana, I LOVE coming to your house!"
-making hot cross buns together with the two youngest granddaughters

-God working
-a sunny Sunday
-a wonderful wedding shower
-a chorus of frogs in the evening

still following,

  1. Always one of my favorite blogs--when you add to your list. I especially love that you included some of the names of God.

    1. We studied the names of God with our small group last week, and to be reminded of His wonderful character is always deeply meaningful.

  2. Again, your gratitude list touched my heart! Sometimes we miss the simple things - and forget to give thanks. Thank you for sharing with us, dear frined.

  3. Blessed be the busy days and the people with whom we share them :)
Blessed are the quiet hours as well. Time to regroup and refresh. Times when blessings fill us up to spill over into the busy days...

  4. Full, but blessed :) I love that you continue to share these - so uplifting and encouraging!
