Contemplating His blessings...

What a rich and full week last week was!  My husband and son-in-law flew to Ghana, West Africa to minister at a pastor's conference, but friends and family stepped in to make sure my birthday was well celebrated and that I've not had time to be too lonely.  As usual, I've many blessings to contemplate, to record in my gratitude journal, and to share here.
Since 2009 I've been counting my blessings thanks to the prompting of Ann Voskamp.
I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my journal.
(and capturing some of my blessings via my camera or iPhone)

-a safe drive to my sister's house
-getting to see my niece and her family
-my grandkids enjoying their great auntie's swimming pool
-a wonderful time sharing God's Word with the women of my sister's church
-youngest grandson snuggled next to Papa when we got home

-fifty nine!
-playing a fun card game with my grandkids, sister and brother-in-law
-hugs and kisses goodbye when my husband left
-going out for my birthday lunch with my sister
-birthday cards, texts, and Facebook messages
-wonderful reports on how VBS at our church went

-a text from my hubs on his layover in Amsterdam
-big hugs from my granddaughter
-a belated birthday lunch with my oldest daughter and her family
-antiquing together
-root beer floats at the A&W
-a walk to the park in the evening with my daughter and youngest grandson
-a phone call from my husband that he arrived safely in Ghana

-another birthday lunch! (this time with a sweet friend)
-a nice visit with another friend who is moving to Texas

still following,

  1. It sounds like you and I had the same kind of birthdat. A little different, but still good.

    1. It was different, but yes, it was still good!

  2. Wow! You DID have a full & rich week! (With my birthday on Christmas Day, it takes on a whole 'nother flavor.....)

    1. Rebecca, you've been on my mind with the loss of your mother. I pray that God comforts and encourages you with His nearness.
