The first week of December 2015...

It's been a rich and full week, ending with a quick weekend trip to St. Louis, (from Portland, Oregon), for my nephew's wedding.  All of my siblings were able to come, which was wonderful.  We laughed together, ate too much, and thouroughly enjoyed the beautiful wedding and reception.  We flew home Sunday evening, and today is all about staying home, doing laundry, and catching up on all that needs done here in anticipation of a week full of Christmas activities!
Since 2009 I've been counting my blessings thanks to the prompting of Ann Voskamp.
I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my little green journal.
(and capturing some of my blessings via my camera or iPhone)

-a cozy fire on a frosty morning
-balsam scented candles
-talking with a friend
-homemade turkey noodle soup from Thanksgiving leftovers
-a great walk

-our cozy breakfast nook
-answered prayers for wisdom
-helping someone with a surprise for their loved one

-raindrops on the leaves and branches
-anticipating ladies gathering in my home for the She Reads Truth Advent study
-getting our Christmas tree

-hot spiced cider
-Mama's oatmeal cookie recipe
-ladies gathering in my home

-a safe trip to St. Louis
-being together with all of my siblings

-celebrating my two older brother's December birthdays by having breakfast together with our family
-my sister curling my hair for the wedding
-a beautiful wedding

-my husband praying a blessing at the reception

-hugs goodbye after one last breakfast together before we all fly home
-a safe, but bumpy, flight home
-lots of laughter at a late night dinner gathering for my nephew's birthday

gratefully yours,
