His is the voice that spoke all of creation into existence
His is the voice that decreed that His creation was good
His is the voice that conversed daily with Adam and Eve as they walked with Him in the garden
His is the voice, that cried out, "Where are you?", the cry of a heartbroken Father
His is the voice that called out to Abram and told him to leave everything he knew to go to a strange land
His is the voice that spoke to Moses from the burning bush, from the mercy seat,
that thundered from the top of Mt. Sinai
His is the voice of the Good Shepherd, Who called to a shepherd boy and made him a great king
His is the voice of the Lover of Israel grieving over her unfaithfulness
His is the voice of the prophets ever calling, calling, calling for His people to return to Him
His is the voice of the Father saying, "This is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"
His is the voice that His Son listened to, only saying, only doing, what He instructed
His is the voice that the Son submitted to, when He said, "Not My will Father, but Thine be done."
His is the voice of resurrection power that spoke the word, "Arise!" and it was so
His is the voice that guided the apostles and that birthed and guides His church
His is the voice that calls His children, one by one by one, to His great heart, to join His family
His is the voice, that one day, called my name
His is the voice of the Spirit, ever calling, calling, calling for His people to return to Him
His is the voice that joins with the voice of His Bride crying , "Even so Lord Jesus, Come!"
His is the voice that will one day say to the Son, "Now is The Day!"
His is the Voice that whispers words of love, yet thunders with majesty
still following,

Hello, Elizabeth! I found you on The Weekend Brew and must admit I was "hooked" by your name! :) But I was instantly drawn to your lovely site and have printed off your post about God's voice for future use (with credit, of course!) during worship leading in church. As a writer, I am very fond of parallel construction and so love that aspect of it...to say nothing of all the truth presented by that construction. From one Elizabeth to another, blessings on your weekend!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to "meet" you Elizabeth. It blessed me that you were ministered to by this post and able to use it for your worship ministry!
DeleteBeautiful truths! I'm following His voice, stumbling sometimes. Blessings, Cindy

ReplyDeleteCindy, we all stumble at times. God's Word says that a righteous man may fall but they don't stay down, they get up!
DeleteThank you for speaking truth into each of us with these beautiful words. Your words "Even so come, Lord Jesus" reminds me of a song from Passion that Chris Tomlin sings "Even So Come". Have a blessed weekend and thank you for sharing at The Weekend Brew.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you, too, Mary! Thank you for your kind comment.
DeleteAmen! Lovely post!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marilyn!
DeleteBeautiful sea mist over these scenic waters.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Gemma. I feel so blessed to live only 80 miles inland from the Pacific, making day trips to the sea totally doable.
DeleteBeautiful! He is the only voice I want to hear.
ReplyDeleteMe, too, friend!
DeleteI've read this three times now. How wonderful to think of the range of God's voice, from speaking creation into being to tender whispers! Great post, Elizabeth.

DeleteBeautiful post! So grateful that "His is the voice, that one day, called my name." I want to hear His voice every day. May you have a blessed Sunday!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Joanne!
DeleteOh Elizabeth, what a beautiful post full of truths...reminders to us all!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Cheryl!
DeleteElizabeth - beautiful image, even more beautiful post! The voice from the word that created the universe. We serve an awesome God!
ReplyDeleteYes, we do, Janet!
DeleteLove the picture, of course. AND through the Word heard His voice being used. And, occasionally, I have heard His voice telling me to do something, go somewhere, lead others to Him, and deal strongly with the demonic situations in our local area, our nation, and around the world. Trusting Him is all we can ever do on the earth... and truly look forward to being with Him and His dear ones in Heaven. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you,friend!
DeleteWhat a lovely timeline of love and grace as we hear His voice through the ages. His is indeed the voice. Blessings to you sweet Elizabeth!
