Matthew 4:18-19...

"As Jesus was walking along the shore of the sea..."
I love those words.
Nothing cures what ails me like a walk by the sea with Jesus.
He always seems especially near when I'm walking on the shore,
the sound of the waves crashing,
the sea breeze blowing my hair.
I always seem to hear His voice more clearly there.
It's the place I've gone to in my most troubled times,
the place I run to when I'm desperate to hear Him,
and He's never failed to meet me there.
I guess you could call it "our place".
At least that's the way I like to think of it.

Where's your favorite place to meet with Jesus?

  1. Beautiful! I wish Iived closer to the beach. I love meeting the Lord in the prayer room at my church. I work there, so I get to sneak in any time I want.

    1. I do love the prayer room as well, but outside by the sea is my most favorite place to spend time with Jesus.

  2. These shots are just beautiful! I'm actually not a seashore girl, though I don't live far from it. "Our place": is most definitely in the mountains, and I DO live far from them. I guess it's because I grew up in the mountains, but when I'm there, I feel as if I can reach out and touch Him. We spent our 30th anniversary there, and my early mornings on a swing outside the cabin were downright worshipful.

Here? I don't have an exterior place, and I'll admit that I'm always trying to find one. Where we meet most often, therefore, is in my trusty prayer chair by the fireplace in the living room.

    1. I meet most often with Jesus in my bedroom or home office, but those special "Jesus date" times by the sea mean so much to me.

  3. How blessed you are to live near enough to a body of water to "run to"..... (I know YOU know "He's as close as the mention of His name" - as one song-writer put it.)
I'm SO thankful for this, as right now "running" is out of the question for me! May your hours there be sweet beyond imagination, Elizabeth. ♥

    1. Rebecca, the sea is 80 miles from home, so my Jesus times there are not all that frequent. Kind of like a special getaway with my husband, I do love when I can have special beach time with the Lord.

    1. I can't get to the beach often enough, so my quiet time is most often in my bedroom or home office. But when I can spend it at the beach, that is my favorite!

  8. Gorgeous, Elizabeth! I agree, the seaside is a special place to meet the Savior, especially at our secluded island vacation spot on the Gulf coast of Florida, and on the rugged, moody coasts of Ireland. But it doesn't matter where -- His mercy, love and grace are all we need. God bless,
    Laurie

  10. Beautiful photos, Elizabeth. We just came home from our vacation at the lake. I loved meeting with Him early each morning there. Something to be said about watching the sun rise over the surrounding mountains, boasting their hues on the water. Loved seeing these today. Have a blessed Sunday!

  12. You and I, again, have very much in common. God has me in the middle section of our nation now, but when out to the ocean ... or the Lake Superior ... seeing the beaches and "seeing" the Lord and His gifts, such as the birds and various forms of fishers, always breaks into my heart. Oh, what a love...

  14. If I lived by the sea, my favorite place to meet with Him would be right there! Since I don't, I love to meet with Him in the quiet, early morning hours outside in my back yard when the weather allows. It's such a sweet place for the two of us to talk together.
