Friday's Faves....Trader Joe's Fresh Basil

You know that it's almost summer when the front entrance to Trader Joe's is flanked
with tiered displays of fresh basil plants.
At only $2.99, it's worth buying one even if only to clip all the leaves for your favorite pizza margherita.

Plant it outdoors and you'll have plenty of basil all summer long to make pesto or caprese salad.
I'm enjoying my basil plant indoors for a few days, but soon it will be planted in a container out on the patio.

Trader Joe's basil plants, one of the many joys of summer!

It's almost Friday, friends!
Have a HAPPY, HAPPY Friday
and
a BLESSED weekend!

  1. Hi Elizabeth - here in the UK I grow basil from seed, alongside my tomatoes - all ready for scrummy home-made tomato sauce for pasta, etc. Makes my mouth water just typing about it! Hugs, Chris x

    1. You should be able to get a basil plant at any nursery I would think.

  4. Cute pot of basil. We use a lot of it at our house. I bought a pot of it and transferred the plants to a big planter on the deck. Love the little pot yours is in. Have a good weekend.

  5. I just purchased three (3!) pots of lemon grass for cooking and anti mosquito plantings outside. I couldn't find the stuff anywhere, so yes to TJs planted happiness.

  6. We don't have a Trader Joe's near our home, but every time I go to visit my older son, where there is one, I bolt there! Love the store! They have fresh and beautiful flowers for such affordable prices - a photographer's dream! Your basil plant looks so healthy. I've been taking pictures of herbs all weekend and so it seems we are thinking alike!

    1. How fun that we're on the same wave length! Now if your skills would somehow come to me via those wave lengths!
