Old clocks, lilacs, blue canning jars and having exactly enough time...

( photo edited with one layer of Kim's 3003 texture, soft light mode, 30% opacity- quote by Brian Andreas)

I love this quote, don't you?

I also love old antique/vintage clocks.
Who cares if they don't work?
I simply appreciate them as pieces of well worn art.

Lilacs in vintage blue canning jars,
what's not to love about that?

I gathered the lilacs when the buds were closed and little by little I am watching as they are opening up indoors.
I have exactly enough time for that.

    1. The lilacs in my own yard are not open yet, but there are many in our neighborhood in beautiful full bloom. Can't wait to go to the lilac garden in Woodland, Washington.

    1. Jill, the hubs and I had to go somewhere yesterday evening. When we got home, the whole house smelled of lilac from this one little bouquet.

  9. Love the lilacs. Love the photos. Love (LOVE) the quote.
And that would make a wonderful note card.

May I have your permission to print it for myself? It's just for me..., to me. If that's not OK, I won't.

    1. Viv, the blue jars are not hard to find here, in thrift shops and antique stores. Also the Ball company has now issued new canning jars in the blue color!

    1. Jill, the other day I had writer's block, so went back through my blog to find a piece to repost. Oh my! While my photography skills and editing still have far to go, some of my old photos are so bad I was cringing looking at them!

  16. Such a lovely post, ELizabeth...lilacs remind me of my mom and the smell is just heavenly. I don't have any here in NC but sure wish I did. I am a collector of clocks too and some of mine don't work either. The beautiful simplicity of the old blue jar...well, that just goes without saying :)
