He loves me...

He loves me?
He loves me not?

Yes, He loves me!
On the days when the blessings are obvious,
on the days when they are hard to see,
on the days I'm so self absorbed that I forget to notice,
God still loves me.
In that fact alone, there's more than enough reason to give thanks every day.

Since 2009 I've been counting my blessings thanks to the prompting of Ann Voskamp.
I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my little black journal.
(and capturing some of my blessings via my camera or iPhone)

-making biscuits for breakfast with the two youngest granddaughters

-five year old granddaughter excited to go to the church office with Papa
leaving me with just the two year old
-watering and trimming up the houseplants
-a hot bubble bath soak while youngest granddaughter naps
-quiet time for devotions
-a sunshiny break in the weather so we took the grandgirlies on a walk

-God's Word-my firm foundation
-being able to talk to God about anything and everything
-running errands
-provision to pay the bills
-two times around the local fitness trail

-honest talks
-dinner at Chipotle with the hubs after a day of hard work

-coffee with another pastor's wife
-God's truth that sets me free
-heaviness that lifts during worship and prayer
-a gift from God to our church

-the street sweeper cleaning up the winter debris
-the Hub's cleaning my car and buying me flowers

-hugs from long time blog friends, meeting others of them for the first time

-learning blogging/writing tips at the Faith and Culture Writers Conference
-making connections
-home sweet home after a busy weekend

-a great message about the Father God adopting us as sons and daughters
-our Truelife Church Kid's and Sprouts teachers
-oldest granddaughter coming home with us after church to just "hang out"
-the trees in our neighborhood are blooming!

gratefully yours,

  10. Hi! Nice captures. Thanks for sharing.

    1. I enjoyed taking and editing the photos, but I'm still learning!

  11. Remembering the fact that He loves, get me through rough days! Thanks for sharing your blessings and your photos are stunning!

    1. Yes, the fact of God's love is the rock beneath my feet that keeps me steady.

  12. I listed making biscuits like my grandmama taught me on my list this week. ;) Your girls will remember that. And there are sunflowers on my table from a photo shoot. Then I recognized Deidra in the shot with you! Great list.

P.S. I couldn't get the link to work from Ann's so I went back to my dashboard and brought you up there.

    1. Thanks for telling me about the link. I had to delete it and re-enter it. It was fun, and messy, making biscuits with my granddaughters...and they were yummy, too!

  13. I have never commented on your blog but have been reading for a long time now...I always come away calm and blessed - thanks for "being here". And I have watched your grand-kiddoes (and mine too!!) grow up so very fast! One look or hug from them is a reminder of just how very blessed we are. Your photos in this post are fantastic - aren't gerbers the happiest of flowers?!?! Have a wonderful day!
    ~ Karen
