Friday's Favs...Easy Fourth of July Banner

In our house, the stair landing is visible when you enter our front door,
so I try to add a little touch of some seasonal decor there.

This is a quick and easy and inexpensive favorite kind.
All you need is an old Probe game that no one plays anymore, that's what the letter cards come from.
It's quite common to find them at the Goodwill, so keep your eyes open for one.

Then, all you need is a hole punch and some sort of twine and you're all set!
Ten minutes later and voila!
The nice thing is, the letters can be used over and over again for other occasions.

Well, it's almost Friday, friends!
Have a HAPPY, HAPPY Friday
a BLESSED weekend!

  1. Great idea! I never this to look for "word games" at the Goodwill for tiles/cards!!

  2. Very clever! Brings back memories, too. We used to play Probe...If I came across a game, I'm not sure I could punch holes in those cards :)

    1. We used to play Probe too, but I bought a Goodwill one just for the purpose of crafting.

  3. Very patriotic banner and display with the red, white, and blue towels!!

  4. Great banner and even better idea to use the letters from the Probe game. I'll have to look next time I'm at a thrift shop. Love how you said God bless America. Happy Summer

    1. Happy Summer to you too! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind comment.

  5. I LOVE this banner! I love the simplicity of the cards and the saying. Thanks for the great idea! Have a wonderful weekend!

  6. Loving it.
I love anything with words spelled out. For some reason, that just jazzes me. (I'm embarrassed that I don't know what "Probe" is, but I'm still going to look for it.

    1. It's a rather old word game, but they show up at the thrift stores now and then.

  7. Love it! We still have our Probe game in our trailer. I need to look for a set at Goodwill. Or, I may do a take-off - just an idea.

  8. Elizabeth, I always look forward to seeing your vignettes. You always manage to keep it simple, yet really effective. Love it! Thanks for linking up at Shabbilicious Friday.
