Simple, easy, accessible - keeping kitchen items in reach...

When I won a giveaway at Mary Alice's blog, Chateau Chic,
she included this lovely little hook made from a piece of vintage silverware in my package.
It hangs on the side of the cabinet that's right above the counter where my Kitchenaid mixer lives, so my measuring spoons are always handy when I'm baking.
I love my All-Clad measuring spoons, (and the cups too!),  that my Hubs got for me one Christmas a few years ago.
So,  I'm definitely a "keep things I use all the time out on the counter" type gal.
You're either like me, or an, "I want my counter tops bare" type gal.
So, which type are you?

Still following,

P.S. Good news, for those wanting a French style butter dish,
I noticed they now have them at Williams Sonoma!

  1. Hi Elizabeth.....I'm like you.
I like all the things I use every day on the bench in easy reach and sight.
I only have a tiny kitchen so most things are only a step away.
I use wall hanging and under the shelf hanging.
I don't have doors on my floor cupboards because I couldn't walk around if I opened a door. I have pretty curtains instead.
I like the hook you were given....perfect for a kitchen.
    Have a good day

  2. Thank you, Elizabeth for the mention. You are so sweet!! I am definitely not a keep all the counters clear type of gal! I like my kitchen utensils out in cute containers.

  3. I like things to be accessible yet pretty, just like the things on your counter. I just love the red anyway. Red in a kitchen says "home" for some reason. Don't know why but it does.

  4. I kind of like things accessible, yet hidden though too, since I don't like clutter. I have my Vita Mix sitting on the counter since it's such a pain taking it in and out of the cupboard, but I wish I didn't have to do that because it's so ugly...lol :)

  5. My counters need to be cleaned off. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have my "office" at the end of the counter. I love your kitchen.

  6. Love your hook! What a great idea! I'm an in-between girl - some things on the counter in easy reach, some not so much! Small kitchen without much counter space helps me choose.

P.S. - I'm sorta wishing I had bought that butter dish when we spent the day in Salem last week! Williams Sonoma would probably be closer!

  7. Oh I love the little hook. What a cute idea. I think I am a cross between wanting clean countertops but having a few functional things I use on them. The only appliances are my mixer and coffee maker. I have three cannisters, bowl of fruit and a collander filled with seasonal cloth napkins. The rest is corralled on a pewter tray and ironstone platter. ;)

  8. I like all my things accessible to me. I have such a tiny kitchen that two people would have a hard time working in it. So definitely what I used most i keep out on the counters either in ball jars or some other fun container.

  9. I love your displays! Very sweet and clever! Well for me, I dream of perfect clean counters but I am so forgetful, so I like to display all of my utensils as well!
