Christmas is a bit different this year
with Mama spending her first Christmas
with The Reason for The Season Himself
She’s the one who first taught me to love Handel’s Messiah
on those big, black, platter sized records
playing on the stereo encased in that big cabinet
that was still a part of her furniture up til the end
I’m wondering if Handel is conducting
an orchestra of angels
and a choir of cherubims
in a live performance
for the Messiah Himself
I like to think that Mama has a front row seat
and when they get to the Hallelujah Chorus
all of heaven stands
in ovation to the One Who Reigns Forever and Ever
and Mama claps the loudest
because now she really knows for sure
that He is and He does
Christmas is a bit different this year
for us
but especially for Mama
who’s having her Merriest Christmas ever
Still following,
Elizabeth
Oh, Elizabeth, how this touched my heart and do you recognize dear one the WAY God writes through you?
ReplyDeleteThank you--
Love,

I wish I could hug you. I'm glad you know where your mama is. I know she is focused on our King and not this piece of sod. Hey, I wrote about angels today. :)

Week 1's inspirational verse will be:
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” Genesis 1:1-3
you know she is..
ReplyDeletebig hug.
What a beautiful post. There is great comfort in salvation. How wonderful to have such an endearing memory and vision of your mom. My mother went to be with the King of Kings the weekend following 911. She will be enjoying the great chorus as well.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine? The singing? The lights? The celebration? The Holy Ghost Party!?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, this.
I pray that you have a joyous celebration here on Earth. Even when we know where our loved ones are, it is hard, isn't it. ... Sending love and prayer.
:-) Sending you smiles and hugs.
ReplyDeletethis made me cry.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet thought...I'm sure she's adoring Him as we virtually speak.
ReplyDeleteWe don't even begin to understand 'merry' in Merry Christmas - until we are where your mama is now! Yes, I'm sure she has a front-row seat. Next to my dear daddy. Aren't all seats front-row seats in Heaven?
