On a hot summer evening, four generations gather at our house for dinner.
We feast on grilled chicken and cold salad.
We drink gallons of iced tea.
For dessert we have cold, sweet watermelon.
When the evening begins to cool, the youngest ones romp in the yard,
getting their mama’s cousin to join them.
I savor the day and imprint the moments, and the happy faces, on my heart.
