A visit to Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge...

Our two youngest granddaughters have been staying with us for the past couple of days so they can attend our church's Vacation Bible School. Since V.B.S. is over at noon, this afternoon we decided to go on a little hike around Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge. It's not far from where we live but I'd never even heard of it until a friend recommended it.
Our glimpses of wildlife were limited to insects and birds, but the scenery was lovely and the walk a good way to get exercise and burn off some energy.

The Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge is on the Washington State side of the Columbia River Gorge. In the photo below you can see Crown Point on the Oregon side of the Columbia River.

We had a fun afternoon walking around the refuge. I look forward to going again during other seasons to see how the scenery changes and if, perhaps, there's a bit more wildlife out and about.

still following,

  1. The photos of the flowers are so pretty, but the real flowers are those two beautiful grandbabies. Sounds like a fun afternoon.

  2. Very nice pictures. Steigerwald is also the name of an area in Germany.

    Many greetings
