Noticing God's gifts, big and small...

It's been a busy, rich, sweet and full week.  I've written twenty five things in my journal this week to give thanks for.  I imagine there's hundreds, if not more than that, things I've not noticed, not taken time to write down.  I'm not sure I've ever noticed or written down something microscopic, but I believe Ann's point is that we need to pay more attention to the little things.  To notice God's gifts, big and small, is my desire, to give Him the thanks and praise He deserves is my goal.

Since 2009 I've been counting my blessings thanks to the prompting of Ann Voskamp.
I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my journal.
(and capturing some of my blessings via my camera or iPhone)

    1. Thanks! I love old tins, and while this is a new tin, it has that retro look.

  2. "I imagine there's hundreds, if not more than that, things I've not noticed, not taken time to write down." Sometimes it's hard to distinguish between the big things and small things; they're all good. Beautiful pictures and blessings here, Elizabeth!

  3. It is day changing - finding the blessings he leaves us. When I was recovering from being hospitalized with pneumonia (and the week before I entered the hospital when they kept misdiagnosing me) and recently as I recover from a planned surgery - looking for the blessings he left me sometimes made all the difference in how I felt in the fight for recovery. What beautiful blessings you found!

    1. I so agree with you! For me, it hasn't been physical illness, but the emotional bumps and bruises in life that counting His blessings has helped me through.

  4. You always teach me the fine art of *noticing*, Elizabeth. And for the many things that I might miss, I am still grateful for a God who is in all the details!

    GOD BLESS!

    1. Sharon, I notice better than I used to, but still not as well as I should! There are so many things I'm sure that I miss.

  6. So many blessings - big and small! My week has been so full and I find I'm sitting down to catch up with you again. That's a blessing, too - being active. And sitting down!
