Psalm 65:11...

This is how I want to finish these last three weeks of 2014,
crowned with God's goodness,
splashing through the puddles of His abundance.

It's been a good year,
yet not without its challenges.
Highs and lows and beautifully ordinary days in between, that's how life is, right?

Recently, one of those lows knocked me off my feet, so to speak.
I've been off balance ever since,
it's been hard to regain my equilibrium.
My emotions have been all cattywampus.

It's a good thing that my emotions don't have the final say.
God has the final say.
His Word is my firm foundation.
I just need to get my feet back under me,
and stand back up on that firm foundation.
I want to finish 2014 strong.

  3. Praying for you, Elizabeth. I have certainly been knocked by emotional strain and it's wearing, but you know Who to rest in. I wanted you to know my mom reads your blog --even though she never comments-- and is so blessed by your writing and love for God! We both have agreed you have a heart that's genuine and a talent for writing devotions that speak to other's hearts! I could go on and on, but anyways if I don't say it again to you this year, Merry Christmas from my family to yours!!!

  6. It's hard to ignore our emotions. And stress can sometimes cause our bodies to react in ways we can't control. God's word is often the only constant, unchanging thing in our lives. I cling to it fiercely during these times, and I know you do the same. So thankful for the I AM in our lives. Praying for His comforting presence in your life this week.

  7. Bless your heart (and emotions)! It's kind of been "that kind" of year for me. I can identify. I'm trying to separate between things that I can "control" and things that I can't and to make wise choices about the stewardship of energy AND emotions as I finish out this year. By His grace....for His glory.

  9. It is not easy when we get knocked for a loop, but God is faithful and He will smooth out the rough edges and plant our feet on His solid ground! I am glad your daughter is learning to speak out!

  10. Praying for you this morning, Elizabeth, that our God would steady you not only on your feet but on steady ground. Love this imagery >>> "Your paths drip with abundance." May our paths drip with an abundance of Him as then we have all that we need. Blessings!

  12. That God has the final say, I have to rely upon that, too. He's all I can count on re: ME, and miss so many of my dear friends, such as YOU! What a blessing to have been with you 3 times. Maybe we can hash stuff out again some day. Bless you, dear.
