Antique Store Find-old wooden tote with Nikon label

I've shown you a number of wooden totes and boxes through my years of blogging.
I think the number is ten.
(I am slightly embarrassed to admit this.)
I don't know why I love them so,
but I seem to be continually drawn toward the beauty of things that people actually used in their daily life.
Mixing bowls, kitchen towels, bread boards, pitchers, bowls, and yes, wooden totes and caddies.

The dovetailed sides on this one make it quite unusual.
Since I'm a Nikon girl, the Nikon label sealed the deal.
I like to imagine what this tote was used for.

I was pleased when the vendor reduced the price when I asked,
making it a really good deal in my opinion.
Sometimes they will and sometimes they won't, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

After a good wipe down and buffing, I added this interesting tote to the rotation of things
I use as a dining table centerpiece or on the trunk, aka coffee table, in the living room.

I know that not everyone sees the beauty in things like old wooden boxes and totes,
but I'm happy to say that the hubs is used to my ways now and didn't even bat an eye
when yet another old wooden tote came to live at our house.

  3. I love old wooden totes and crates! The clunkier the better. I actually googled the information from your Nikon label. This is what a micrometer stage is:

"An ocular micrometer is a glass disk that fits in a microscope eyepiece that has a ruled scale, which is used to measure the size of magnified objects. The physical length of the marks on the scale depends on the degree of magnification."

So, your tote held some sort of equipment for a microscope! I thought you might want to know. I know I did, for I am a curious soul!

    GOD BLESS!

  4. Your details shots are amazing! I love that you put these old wooden totes to use in your home, lovingly incorporating them into your decor and your gracious hospitality. I have a "thing" for wooden caddies, crates, boxes, totes, and tool boxes, too. They have so many uses - I often use them turned on end as backdrops for photos, too!
