Grateful recognition of His blessing...

Everyone knows what it's like to feel taken for granted.
You give a gift, do someone a favor, go out of your way to help a friend or neighbor,
and it seems to go unnoticed, unacknowledged, unappreciated.
We don't do these things in order to receive a thank you,
but a thank you is sure appreciated.
Everyday God pours out His blessings on both those who know Him and those that don't,
on those that give Him thanks and those that don't.
But true love notices, true love acknowledges, true love appreciates, true love gives thanks
and God notices.

Since 2009 I've been counting my blessings thanks to the prompting of Ann Voskamp.
I continue to count my thanks
piling up gratitude day by day
in my little black journal.
(and capturing some of my blessings via my camera or iPhone)

  1. Elizabeth, Another great list of gratitudes. Those granddaughters are beautiful. I think I have the same white rose bush that you do. Just planted it this year. Have a blessed week ahead and thanks for sharing.

    1. It's a David Austin Glamis Castle Rose that I bought from the Heritage Roses in St. Paul, Or. It was a teeny little thing when I bought it and still is quite small.

  2. Love your lists, Elizabeth. A belated Happy Anniversary to you and your husband. Blessings on your marriage!

Sorry to hear about the migraine. I also suffer from terrible headaches, and they do have a way of stopping life in its tracks. But even then, God finds a way to bring us His comfort and peace.

    GOD BLESS!

  3. Thank you, Sharon! I'm thanking God that the migraine was gone by Saturday and today I felt fully well and energetic. The migraines leave me a bit drained for a day or two.
