When I got an Amazon gift card for Christmas I looked and looked and took my time deciding what I wanted to spend it on.
A new book?
I already received four new books for Christmas and have another stack of books that I already had that I need to finish.
What about something I need for the house?
New bath towels?
Nah, gift cards are for fun things, right?
New shoes?
Not a big enough gift card for those.
And then I remembered this guy that I'd been eyeing for quite some time...
I'm rather fond of him.
And there was still enough on the gift card to get a little something else.
You know my weakness for cute cups,
and what could be better than a cute cup by Cath Kidston?
Why one with roosters on it, of course!
(Pretend you don't see my embarrassing rain spotted kitchen window.)
What says "Good Morning!" better than a cheerful chicken on your coffee cup?
The new guys are joining the flock which includes this Goodwill pair I already had.
My favorite rooster of all, used to belong to Mama.
He was carved by my uncle, who was a pilot in WWII and, at one time, a prisoner of war.
While the other roosters are fun and add a bit of whimsy to my kitchen,
this one is a real treasure to me.
Well, it's almost Friday, friends.
I hope you have a
HAPPY, HAPPY Friday
and a
BLESSED weekend!
I adore your style, Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Dayle!
DeleteAren't you smart! I always have things in my Amazon bucket too but I never really thought of it as a wish list. Love your cutting board for the looks and the utility. That cup is to die for!
ReplyDeleteI just saw that picture of you on the sidebar. Is that new? Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacey! It's just an iPhone selfie, but newer than my old blog photo. I have several pro. photographer friends and really should have a good photo taken sometime!
DeleteI love it. especially your mom's rooster. I think it's always extra special to decorate a home with treasures that MEAN something.
ReplyDeleteI agree! I'd rather have unique and meaningful things in my home too.
DeleteWhat a fun post! I so enjoyed seeing your gifts and gift of creativity. Love you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend.
DeleteYou always amaze me, my friend. You find the neatest things and you have a great way to put it all together. See you (and your chickens soon).
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
Maybe we'll find some treasures together!
DeleteFun roosters! I got a Pier 1 gift card for Christmas and haven't spent it. Maybe you need to come over and see my house, then go shop with me....
ReplyDeleteOh, that would be so fun!
DeleteOoh, I love all of it. This makes me a little sad, though. When we repainted/decorated our kitchen years ago I sold all my rooster/chicken paraphernalia except for a couple of things at a yard sale. One of the items was a wood rooster weather vane made of wood that stood in the corner. I hate yard sales. ;)
ReplyDeleteA wood rooster weather vane and you got rid of it??? I'm kind of crying inside for you!
DeleteWe have roosters too--both live ones and all sorts of decorative ones. Love this china! Have never heard of it. Will click on the link now. Thank you--and I adore your new profile pic! xo
ReplyDeleteCath Kidston is English I think and has purses and dishware and all sorts of things.
DeleteI know I said it on instagram, but it bears repeating. You are an inspiration! Thankful that God placed you in my life!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about you!
DeleteLove all of your sweet touches!! <3
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend!
DeleteLove your collection! :)
ReplyDeleteI guess it is turning into a collection! Oh my, not another collection!!!
DeleteYour house always looks so cheerful. The read this season definitely emphasizes that :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa!
Deletebright and cheerful post and I like chicken + rosters - nice touches around your home -- they are all colors and lovely...
ReplyDeleteHugs
