The scriptures prophesy of the coming Messiah in Isaiah 11,
saying that He will be a branch springing up from the root of Jesse, the father of King David.
Many people celebrating Advent have a Jesse tree,
a tree full of symbols telling of the Messiah's coming.
In our house, we reinvented this tradition with a simple branch and twenty five tags, each tag with a different title for the Messiah listed, with the corresponding verse written on the back.
This year, for the first time, my two oldest grandchildren are here for the whole holiday season,
so each day they get to be the ones to add one tag until Christmas day.
Here are the names of Jesus we chose with the scripture where the name is found.
Jesus -Matthew 1:21

I'm so grateful for the chance to share this tradition with my grandchildren!
I’ve taken the Joy Dare.
I’m counting one thousand thanks in one year.
I hunt for thanksgiving using the prompts Ann gives us each month.
