It's washed and smells like home now, but something about wearing this today makes me feel closer to my sisters in Haiti.

(Your first picture immediately made me think of the Risen Jesus, serving breakfast on the shore.)Jennifer @ JenniferDukesLee.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15934656581948719407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1105171804337429232.post-27153936854367882632012-06-07T04:03:46.336-07:002012-06-07T04:03:46.336-07:00This is a very powerful post. Once in awhile, a certain scent generated by something burning here brings it all back and the 13 or 14 years in between fade away....

For weeks after I returned to the States, I continued to shower in the dark with a candle lit - as we had done in Africa... I don't anymore.

I don't believe Africa will ever get out of my "blood".Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08740950362293427086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1105171804337429232.post-86868934877749720212012-06-07T01:50:08.698-07:002012-06-07T01:50:08.698-07:00lovely blog=)
